At it's conception, LSD was primarily used to be scientists, scholars, and intellectuals to study the illicit effects it has on human cognition.

As time began to progress, others got their hands on the drug and began to experiment with its power.

In the 1950's it began being used as a treatment for alcoholics, and other wise men like Aldous Huxley turned onto the drug in 1953.

In '66 LSD becomes illegal in California. In '67 is the Summer of Love, when more people were turned onto LSD than any other.

Timothy Leary, who was later released from Harvard because of his controversial experiments with psilocybin, along with Ken Kesey, who traveled the United States in "magical bus" named Further, turned the youth onto LSD heavy in the 1960's and 70's.

To this day LSD is still widely used recreationaly by people of all kinds, primarily those in the "stoner' based counter-culture, and artists interested in expanding their perceptions.

What are some myths about LSD?

There are numerous myths regarding the drug LSD. Among the more common myths are: * If you take LSD x number of times you are legally insane. * A group of LSD users once went blind by staring at the sun while tripping. * LSD is often adulterated with strychnine. * LSD stays in your body forever. * You can make LSD from Foster's beer (or other common products). * LSD is deposited in your spinal cord, and can be released when you crack your back. * Drug dealers tried to addict children to LSD by dispensing LSD-contaminated lick-and-stick tattoos These myths are all false. It should be noted that LSD is not considered addictive, which automatically invalidates the tattoo myth.

Is LSD addictive?

No, it is not addictive at all. Users usually know to limit usage after using. Im pretty sure its almost impossible to get addicted to lsd. It is not physically addictive, however it is possible to build a psychological dependency on it. However, in order to achieve similar effects it is necessary to increase doses massively and is inadvisable. It should be treated with great respect! LSD is an extremely potent and (in common with most hallucinogens) unpredictable drug.
