Who was Adolf Hitler and why did everyone hate him so much? In: World War 2, Adolf Hitler |

Answer
Adolf Hitler was the political leader (dictator) of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. He was born on April 20, 1889 and died on April 30, 1945. So much for the basics.
Many of his views and attitudes were a product of his times. Racism, bigotry, militarism, and narrow-mindedness were all quite typical (and therefore accepted) in Europe during the early 20th century. Otherwise, he could have never risen to power.
Not everyone hated him. Many Germans loved him and thought of him as a type of saviour. To them, he had brought them out of disgrace and poverty and (almost) led them to the domination of Europe.
However, nothing is free. The price for all this was loss of freedom--freedom to live, speak, and move about. He slowly eroded the freedoms away, in the name of security and economic gains. (Does any of this sound familiar?) Eventually, he had such a stranglehold on the people that they were unable to stop the war and its atrocities.
People hate him for plunging Europe into war and for the atrocities he was ultimately responsible for, such as trying to exterminate the Jews, Slavs, gypsies, and other "undesirables;" for encouraging horrific brutality both on and behind the frontlines; starting a war that cost 50-60 million lives, about 3% of the world's population at the time. Just to name a few.
So who was Adolf Hitler? Probably one of the most infamous persons in history.
