He tried to change people's eye colors. He injected children's eyes with different serum's.

He also did "high elevation" experiments, which basically he strapped them to something and changed the oxygen/elevation around them, seeing how long until it took said experiment to die.

He was interested in twins, often being sweet to them, giving them treats. He then would take blood everyday, and performed NUMEROUS surgeries on them without anesthesia.
He would put blue dye and bleach in people's eyes to see if they would turn blue, this caused pain and agony adn death. He also was interested in twins he tested to see if one twin died if the other would at the same time, he would sew children together to see what Siamese twins were like.

Most people were sent to the gas chambers before they got to the camp anyways, i consider these people luckier then the people he did experiments on.Dr. Mengele was a very cruel man.and these are only some of the things he did.

Josef Mengele, M.D., PhD (March 16, 1911 - February 7, 1979) was a Nazi German physician who performed experiments that were condemned as murderously sadistic on prisoners in Auschwitz during World War II. He personally selected over 400,000 prisoners to die in gas chambers in Auschwitz. as a German SS officer and a physician Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. He earned doctorates in anthropology from Munich University and in medicine from Frankfurt University. He initially gained notoriety for being one of the SS physicians who supervised the selection of arriving transports of prisoners, determining who was to be killed and who was to become a forced labourer, but is far more infamous for performing grisly human experiments on camp inmates, for which Mengele was called the "Angel of Death".

In 1940, he was placed in the reserve medical corps, following which he served with the 5th SS Panzergrenadier Division Wiking in the Eastern Front. In 1942, he was wounded at the Soviet front and was pronounced medically unfit for combat, and was then promoted to the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer (Captain) for saving the lives of three German soldiers. He survived the war, and after a period living incognito in Germany he fled to South America, where he evaded capture for the rest of his life despite being hunted as a Nazi war criminal.

He was a ss Doctor Who worked many at Auschwitz concentration camp he experiments many harsh and unforgivable things on the Jewish prisoners.

Mengele was an SS doctor in WW2 and conducted experiments on prisoners, killing and maiming thousands.

Dr. Mengele was a physician at Auschwitz-Birkenau . As prisoners were being removed from the trains that brought them to the camp, he would select the ones that looked fit enough for work and directed the unfit prisoners to the gas chambers to immediately exterminated. Mengele was also very interested in unusual cases, such as people with deformities, midgets, giants, twins, ect. He did his many experiments on these people. He especially loved young twins. He was trying to genetically create the perfect Aryan race for the Nazis. His experiments were gruesome and brutal. Many experiments included surgeries with and without anesthetics, amputations, genital mutations, and trying to change eye colors. These are only a few examples.
He did experiments on people. Especially on twins, dwarfs and hanchbacks. He sent people to gas chambers in the Holocaust.

well....first of all Josef Mengele, through out his carreer, always had a special interest in twins and dwarfs. Basically because there were so few and for him, they were "exotic specimens". The day he was givent the position of chief in the Auschwitz camp, he was given the free hand, without any type of supervision, to test out all those experiments he had desired so long. For him, it was an opportunity, now or never, to be able to answer his questions with so many victims from various races and ages. As to why he did all those cruel things? the nazi party was a highly influencious political party which had very strict followers. Mengele belived he was acting in benefit of his country and science. Although his experiments were scientically flawed...but that is another story. He experimented due to the political influence....to the amount of power he was given (he was given the role of god basically as he decided who lived and who was sent to the gas chambers) and most obviously...because he was mentally ill.....there is absolutly no justification for the horrors he committed....he was the personification of pure evil. Hope that helped!

In 1935, Mengele earned a Ph.D. in physical anthropology from the University of Munich. In January 1937, at the Institute for Hereditary Biology and Racial Hygiene in Frankfurt, he became the assistant of Dr. Otmar von Verschuer, a leading scientific figure widely known for his research with twins.

He did many many different kinds.
He injected chemicals into childrens eyes to try and make their eyes change colors.
He injected mosquito's (or the glands of female mosquito's), then after they caught malaria, subjects were treated with different drugs to treat the disease.
He did "freezing experiments", putting people into tubs with ice water...etc.
He would try and treat people with mustard gas (often hurting patient, then treating wounds)
He did different studies to make sea water drinkable, often injecting subjects with only sea water and giving them NO food or actual water.
He did numerous surgeries on children, namely twins, like sewing together twins to make conjoined twins. He also liked to take out reproductive organs, and ALL surgeries back then were done without anesthesia.

Josef Mengele was famous for being the head doctor of performing atrocious medical experiments on the Jews, the Undesirables and traitors (to the Third Reich). The experiments carried out by him, many other doctors, medical technicians and nurses were so horrendous you cannot describe them on a family website.

Mengele managed to escape to South America but was caught and brought to justice decades later. He was the No. 1 wanted man by the Jews searching for Nazis.

I searched around the internet for a website that did not have any offensive photos on it that tell more about Josef Mengele. Click on the related sites below.
