My grandfather, Buford Ernie Horne, was a ball player in the majors for half a year (unsure of which team) but played in the minors for the Richmond Colts (AAA), Jersey City Giants (AAA), Chatanooga Lookouts, and the Arkansas Travelers (unsure of the the last three). He played during the 1930s and retired around the time my father was born (1939-1940).

I had a friend whose grandfather played minor league ball whose name was Ernie Horne. He probably would've played in the 30s or 40s.

I checked Total Baseball (the Baseball Bible) and there is no Ernie Horne in the record books. He's probably not a major leaguer.
