Robert Louis Stevenson did not have any child of his own. However, he married Fanny Osbourne, who had two sons and a daughter. The daughter was already grown up when Stevenson married Osbourne, and her youngest son died early of scrofulous tuberculosis. Lloyd Osbourne, however, was 12 when Stevenson married Osbourne and quickly befriended his stepfather.
