On 63 B.C.E., the name Octavius is given to the son of Gaius and Atia. (Atia was the niece of Julius Caesar.) This boy, Octavius would be the next great leader of the Roman Empire.

At the age of eighteen, Octavius goes to fight against Spain (the battle of Munda) alongside the current emperor, Julius Caesar. Only a year later, in 44 B.C.E., Julius Caesar was assassinated and in his will, he adopted Octavius, thus leaving Octavius next in line. Though it takes about a year for Octavius to finally be acknowledged as Caesar's adopted son, on August 19th, Octavius finally becomes Julius Caesar's son.

On November 27th of that same year, despite the fact that Octavius should be the next Emperor, the people are afraid that there will be many dictators, and they won't get to help decide a leader, so he is still not the one in charge of Rome.

In the year 42 B.C.E., Octavius decides to do something about the death of Caesar, so his colleague, Antony and he take revenge on the people who assassinated Julius Caesar.

Just three years later, Octavius marries to a woman named Scribonia, and they have a child, Julia. Unfortunately, the marriage doesn't last, so he divorces and marries again, this time to a woman named Livia. Not long later, Antony marries Cleopatra.

In 36 B.C.E., Octavius defeats Pompey, but only 4 years later, Rome declares war on Egypt and Octavius is in charge of the battle.

Unfortunately, in 30 B.C.E., Antony and Cleopatra commit suicide, but there is also some good news because just one year later, Octavius wins the war against Spain. He also defeats and gains power in Gaul, Syria, Spain and Egypt. Because of this he earns the name Augustus.

In 27 B.C.E. one of Augustus' greatest accomplishments takes place. In this time, he creates the paxo roma, a time of peace throughout the Roman Empire. Lasting for about 200 years, this was one of the most effective events in Roman History. During this time, Rome was able to use the whole empire as one to conquer more land and strengthen in power.

One year later, Augustus' daughter Julia marries Marcellus, Octavia's son. (Octavia was Augustus' sister.) In 23 B.C.E., Augustus is given the power to veto ideas and has power over magistrates. In this same year, Augustus' son in law, Marcellus dies. Agrippa is then forced to divorce his wife to marry Julia. Later they have five kids wh

In 13 B.C.E., Agrippa becomes co emperor with Augustus, But this doesn't last long, for soon after he visits Pannonia and becomes ill, and the next year he dies. Because once again Julia is a widow, Augustus makes his stepson divorce his wife and marry Julia. Augustus also becomes a Pontifex.

In 5 B.C.E., Augustus lets Gaius be presented as his heir and three years later, Augustus becomes father of his country. Unfortunately, on such an important year for Augustus, that same year he exiles his own daughter because Julia is involved in scandals.

In 14 B.C.E., our fantastic leader's life comes to an end. Augustus Caesar will always be remembered as a great Roman emperor.
