Monty Python is widely regarded as one of the most influential comedy groups of all time in the UK. They consisted of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam ( although Gilliam mainly did just the animation) They made a tv series called 'Monty Pythons flying Circus' which was very random and surreal comedy. They then went on to make several films. The most popular being 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' a spoof of King Arthur and his escapades and 'Life of Brian' a parody of the life of Jesus which caused uproar in the religious community.
