Ãlvaro Uribe Vélez (born July 4, 1952) was the first president of Colombia to serve in 2010. He was elected President on 2002 August 7, and re-elected in 2006. He served until 2010 August 7. Having already received a constitutional amendment allowing him to serve a second term, supporters attempted to amend the constitution again to allow Uribe to serve a third term; however, the resulting law was rejected by the constitutional court.
