Phileus Fogg, and in some adaptations of the novel, Phineus Fogg, was the fictional protagonist in Verne's novel Around the World in 80 Days. He isn't really a captain, but leads the mission with his manservant, rescuing a young Indian girl (from India) on the way, and taking her with them. Having learned of railway expansion and improved travel, he makes a bet with the Reform Club of London that he can complete a journey around the world in eighty days.
