No African American comedian has ever won an Oscar. Furthermore, the two Best Actor winners were Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington. Eddie Murphy was nominated as Best Supporting Actor for Dreamgirls, but he lost to Alan Arkin (and because Norbit came out before that year's Oscars).
