The Battle of Little Bighorn, also known as Custer's Last Stand, was a conflict where the Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne tribes defeated the US Army. In contrast, the fighting at Wounded Knee was a massacre in which the US Army killed over 200 Lakota Sioux, mainly women and children. The Battle of Little Bighorn involved a more organized Native American resistance, while Wounded Knee was a tragic example of excessive force by the US military.
It was the destruction of nomadic Indian tribes by an organised army hitting their homes, women and childre rather than their warriors. A shameful episode in US history. If it happened in this day and age the world would be in uproar protesting it.
Little Bighorn is not a "who" , but a place in WY where George Armstrong Custer fought 2,000 Native Americans in the last battle of the war between the Union army and the Native Americans in 1876. This was the "last stand" of the tribes and within a year they were defeated.
