∙ 14y agoThere were a multitude of ways if you consider the strains on a vessel of that size. Some may have been crushed, others drowned. Some may have been electrocuted when the sea water came into contact with the generator, but the majority of deaths resulted from prolonged exposure to the freezing sea water (-2oC) , i.e. Hypothermia.

∙ 10y ago2 year old Helen Lorraine Allison born in Montreal, Quebec Canada on June 1909 boarded Titanic as 1st class with her parents and 11 month old brother Trevor. The maid Sarah Daniels, cook Mildred Brown, Hudson Allison's manservant George Swayne and the children's nurse Alice Cleaver boarded with them. The Servants were given a 2nd class cabin. Trevor Allison shared his with Alice Cleaver, Lorraine shared a cabin with Sarah Daniels. During the iceberg collison, Alice Cleaver goes into a panic, the family is unaware they are in danger-which most of the 1st class passengers were- while Hudson goes to investigate about the iceberg, Alice Cleaver takes baby Trevor and wakes Sarah Daniels leaving Lorraine alone. When the crew lowers people in the lifeboat, Alice Cleaver manages to get on lifeboat # 11 while Sarah Daniels and Mildred Brown manage to get on lifeboat #8. After they board the lifeboats, and when the Allison family is told to get dressed and put on lifejackets, they go to the cabins where the servants kept the children but realized that Alice Cleaver and that their infant son was missing and that Lorraine was left by herself. Bess Allison dresses Lorraine and takes her to the boat deck. Bess Allison said she wouldn't leave the ship without her husband. A passenger told Bess that Hudson was on the other side of the deck. But realizing he wasn't Bess stepped out of the boat carrying Lorraine. She stated that she would not leave the ship until she finds her infant son nor be parted from her toddler daughter. The Allison family spent the whole time looking for Alice Cleaver and their son. But the whole time they spent searching, all lifeboats had gone, the ship was starting to flood rapidly. The family was last seen on the promenade deck standing together. Lorraine could've died in her mother's arms in the freezing cold water and both of their bodies were lost at sea.
