What was Homo erectus?

Homo erectus (meaning "upright man") is an extinct species of hominid that lived throughout most of the Pleistocene geological epoch. Its earliest fossil evidence dates to 1.9 million years ago and the most recent to 70,000 years ago.

Homo-erectus walked around in its African environment, and then later on it walked around in its Asian and European environment's. He ate fruit most of the time, but if times were tough, they would hunt animals, but they were also scavengers. They would have interacted with other species, such as Homo-habilis, Homo-egaster, Paranthropus robustus, Paranthropus boisei, and later on in the species lifetime, Homo Sapiens.

They probably were also a dangerous enemy for Homo-habilis, because not only was Homo-erectus stronger, taller, and more adapted to there environment, they were also smarter. Homo-erectus probably didn't get along with Homo-sapiens, as they died out shortly after the appearance of them, and although they probably hunted other Hominid's, they also lived with many of them. Or left them alone all together.

Homo-egaster was so similar to Homo-erectus that the two probably couldn't tell the difference. They were about the same height, and although the two probably had varying skin colors, they did not look at it that way. So, if the two species ever came across each other, they wouldn't have just done the same thing they did when they came across another band. Fought, taken supplies (food), and then take captives. Eventually, they would have mated with the captives, and maybe there would have been baby's or not. Either way, Homo-egaster died out a little more than a thousand years later.

Did they mix? Homo-erectus's brain capacity raised a considerable amount sometime after the dissapearance of Homo Egaster, it jumped from 826 cm to 1200 cm.
