I am a future pharmacy student, so ATM my knowledge is quite limited. However, if i had to guess i would guess the reasoning behind taking metaformin WITH insulin is because the use of exogenous insulin causes your body's insulin receptors to downregulate. Metaformin, on the other hand, causes these same receptors to upregulate. Doing this will prevent you from becoming insulin resistance and possibly requiring more insulin eventually for the same effects.
Also do not think metaformin is just an oral insulin, IT IS NOT!. They both lower blood sugar levels, but in different mays. Do not get them confused!!!
I hope i helped :)
Well it depends what type. With type 1 you have to do insulin injections 2 or more times a day. Also you can't eat much of anything too sugary. With type 2 you have to take special tablets to give you the insulin or do injections and, as with type 1, you can't eat much of aany thing too sugary.
Classically type I, or childhood onset, diabetics require insulin and type II, or adult onset, diabetics can take pills. Sometimes type II diabetics require insulin as well.
There are several different types of Diabetes. Most commonly, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes treatment includes a diabetic diet and exercise. Depending on the severity and the symptoms is may also require insulin treatment often through injections or oral medication.
Both types of diabetes can require injections of insulin. Type 1 Diabetics need insulin injections, while Type 2 Diabetics usually do not. However, due to certain circumstances, Type 2 Diabetics do need insulin injections.
the pancreas secretes insulin as well as bile.

No, people who have type 1 diabetes (like me myself) do not produce insulin. Yet their may still produce insulin but too little to be enough to not take it. As you get more experienced with diabetes your doctor may tell you that your body still produces insulin but not enough to take it alone with no help( this is the HONEYMOON Stage). You have to take it by syringe, shot, or by a pump. People who have type 2 diabetes, their pancreas still produce insulin but maybe their bodies do not absorb it too well.
well i know from experience iv been diabetic for 10 yrs children get type 1 diabetes it is easily treatable with regular blood sugar readings and insulin injections see a doctor
Insulin was first developed in 1920. In 1950 the pills were created to treat diabetes as well.
People with type 1 diabetes need to take insulin. With type 1 diabetes the pancreas no longer produces sufficient insulin. In order to control blood glucose levels, type 1 diabetics need to use insulin injections. Insulin cannot be taken orally, it is only available as an injection.
Yes. Sonia Sotomayor was diagnosed with Type I diabetes, an autoimmune disease that attacks the pancreas and destroys the body's insulin-producing cells, at age 8. In type I diabetes (formerly known as juvenile diabetes) the body stops producing the insulin hormone that converts sugars and starches into energy. Although it can be managed with diet, exercise and insulin injections, it does not remit like Type II diabetes sometimes does. Sotomayor's diabetes is reportedly well controlled, with A1C levels consistently under 6.5.
