Not all girl scout uniforms are green, just the Girl Scout Junior level.
The beginning level, Girl Scout Daisies, wear blue. The second level, Girl Scout Brownies, wear brown. The third level, Girl Scout Juniors, wear the traditional green. The upper levels, Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors, wear khaki.
The reason juniors wear the traditional green is it is an easy color to keep clean when playing outside.
It is easy to maintain a green uniform--when participating in outdoor activities stains don't show as they might with other colors, it is distinctive and it is traditional.

In 1963, Intermediate Girl Scouts were changed to Junior Girl Scouts and the Junior Girl Scout uniforms were an adaptation of the green Intermediate Girl Scout uniforms.
In 1963, the newly established Cadette Girl Scouts used what was the alternate uniform for Intermediate Girl Scouts as their uniform.
Senior Girl Scouts had a deep green uniform.
The colors are mostly based on tradition. Blue, then khaki, then green, were the colors of the uniforms in the early years of Girl Scouting, which were based on the uniforms of Girl Guides in England.

∙ 13y agoScouting and Guiding in France is fragmented with 80 different associations and federations; most are co-educational. There are five World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) member organizations in France.
The uniform consists of a shirt and a scarf/neckerchief, but not all of the organizations have green uniforms.
The color of the shirt varies depending on which organization and which level a girl belongs to. The colors of the age levels are chosen by the member organization.
