Why are some resources called nonrenewable?

Non-renewable sources of energy like coal, oil and natural gas are called fossil fuels because they were laid down in the earth, like fossils, millions of years ago.

Other non-renewable resources, like gold, aluminum, diamonds etc, are not referred to as fossil fuels.

An energy resource like coal, oil or natural gas is called non-renewable because it does not renew itself every day like wind power or sunlight. We burn oil, and it is finished. Gone. After that we have to think of something else.

they are called non renewable and that means when you use it all up you cannot get it back.like salt if you use it u cannot get it back you can buy it but it wont be the same
