Why are days longer than nights at certain times of the year?
Answer:
Answer Long days in Alaska
It depends on where you aretalking about in relation to the world. In Alaska durning the summer the days are 20 hours long
Answer-
The Earth is tilted on its axis 23.5 degrees. As it revolves around the Sun the angle to the orbital plane does not change, so in the Winter the Northern hemisphere tilts 23.5 degrees away from the Sun, in the Summer the Northern hemisphere tilts 23.5 degrees toward the Sun.
At the poles the Sun remains above the horizon for six months and below for six months. At the equator the Sun sets 23.5 degrees north latitude (inter) and 23.5 degrees south latitude (Summer) but the hours of daylight and darkness are about equal every day.
That 's how the world works!
