Why are eco activist always referring to earth as spaceship earth?

Answer

space is very compicasds

Answer

Spaceship earth is a label applied to the planet to emphasize that the earth has a limited amount of resources. Though the earth is a big place and full of lots of good stuff, there is the line of thought that even as a spaceship could run out of something vital for life, so could the earth at some point. The earth is like a big spaceship traveling through space. Everything we need is aboard, but quantities are not unlimited. We have to "conserve" and "manage" what we have to best advantage so those around today will be "okay" tomorrow, and so that future generations will have enough resources to be "okay" as well.

The earth is, in fact, a spaceship. Don't look for a "supply ship" to pull up along side any time soon to replenish something like, say, our oil. Not gonna happen. The "spaceship earth" message is to use wisely what is here. Be smart about it. No one is going to come and bail us out if we drop the ball on this one. We can't call anyone for assistance. We're on our own.
