Flowers are called reproductive parts of a plant because they contain germcells(sex cells) i.e. pollen grains (male) and ovule (female) . they have sexual mode of reproduction as it involves the two sexes. When pollen travels in the ovule of a flower it fuses and produces a zygote , then a embryo is formed and then the fruits with seeds. since it produces its progeny it is a reproductive part.
