they release carbon monoxide which destroys the environment.

They also release carbon dioxide which is the gas that creates a greenhouse effect trapping the heat in the atmosphere and warming the earth.

Engines also release unburned hydrocarbons and Nitrogen Oxides, all of these are pollutants.

Gas powered cars do absolutely nothing except rust back into the ground. Running th engines in these units can cause some issues and some believe that they may contribute as much as 1% of all carbon Dioxide into our atmosphere. If you do not understand anything about science, you could conclude that this is bad for the planets overall greenhouse gas levels.

They also produce sulfur dioxide, which is bad for the environment. They are many times better then even a few years ago now.

Riding a bike is far better then an auto for the environment. The only output there is greenhouse gases of water vapor and carbon dioxide.

Cars are bad for the environment because they release bad toxins and fumes into the air. Burning oil releases carbon dioxide, a powerful greenhouse gas which is causing global warming.
Cars are not bad for the environment. The car in your driveway produces zero issues with the environment. USING The car is another issue.

It takes far more energy to build a car than it will ever consume during its lifetime. Consequently the pollution created building it is also far greater than you will ever generate driving it. By the time you park your new car on the driveway, the major damage has already been done.

Most cars today are far from efficient users of their fuel source. In the seventies a big push came about to make cars run cleaner. At that time they produces high levels of carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and other pollutants.

They push was to make cars that produce only water vapor and carbon dioxide. The number one and two greenhouse gases.

These cars now produce almost .1% of all greenhouse gas emissions. The more important issue (though ignored) is the associated pollution with creating their fuel. Mining and drill for energy sources is a true pollution issue. The growing use of oil for cars is causing more of these pollution issues.

As long as we can defocus people into worrying about global warming from cars, we can ignore the real issues and allow gas companies to pollute. If we were really interested in the environment we would stop these pollution issues rather then chasing wind turbines.

Each year cars emit more than 300 million tons of carbon into the atmosphere each year in the United States alone. Cars worldwide have a far greater effect.

This pollution is believed to increase Global Warming.

The emissions also cause smog and damage to the ecosystem.

Gasoline leaks from auto fueling stations and underground storage containers can also pollute the groundwater.

Gasoline really doesn't hurt the environment buring it can effect it slightly, by releasing green house gas emissions. Most vehicles since the early 70's have lots of emissions control that help keep the planet cleaner with less emissions. States like CA have very strict emissions standards and on many cars the dealers have to specify what states emissions they have to meet.

the following answer has been underlined by me for your better understanding and is not from any copyright material

cars use:-

  • petrol
  • diesel
  • gasoline
  • LPG

all of these are hydrocarbon fuels formed due to the decaying of prehistoric animals.the common fact of any hydrocarbon fuel is that when burnt in the presence of air it forms:-

  • water
  • carbon-Di-oxide

but since it is modified in the factory to give you more mileage and also due to lack of air and due to the presence of impurities in the engine the following byproducts are formed

  • water
  • carbon-Di-oxide
  • carbon-mono-oxide(due to lack of oxygen)
  • sulphur-Di-oxide(due to sulphur content)
  • nitrogen-Di-oxide
  • etc

in the above by products

  • water is of no treat to mankind
  • carbon-Di-oxide forms a layer in our atmosphere and traps heat within the earth.this is bad for all organisms on earth.this is known as global warming
  • carbon-mono-oxide is bad for the health and can cause death if inhaled in large quantities
  • sulphur-Di-oxide & nitrogen-Di-oxide mix with water in the clouds and form weak sulfuric acid and nitric acid.this causes damage to crops, buildings, increases corrosion, and is bad for the skin.
thus i conclude by saying that cars are bad for the environment and to man made structures even though cars are a boon to mankind

When a car starts, it will give off exhaust. Also, many cars use gas, a non-renewable resource.
