Yes, we are a rare group. Only 15% of the world's population and dwindling away. Just about every time we breed with a Positive blood type man, we have a Positive blood type child. That means that some day Negative blood will be extinct. O negative blood is the purest blood type on earth. ALSO, no one knows where it originated and isn't connected to anything else on earth.
I actually asked my Biology teacher that very question, and he gave me a very simple yet very complex answer; it has to do with the way people have had children and blended their blood types. Therefore, if people had married different spouses throughout the course of history, we might have different blood types that are common.
Blood can have either A or B molecules that cause the blood to clump if anything but what is contained in the blood is mixed in. Type A can receive both A and O type blood, type B can receive type B and O type blood, and AB can receive A, B, and O type blood, and type O can only receive type O. The reason the blood can accept type O is because it does not have those substances that cause the blood to clump, it is basically a neutral blood type. It is considered "universal" because every single person can receive this type of blood, which is also why it's hard to find because not very many people have straight O blood because it is a recessive type.
O blood group is called universal donors because this group blood can given to any other blood group person.
From Alina Shoaib
Because it is. Recessive is essentially where a gene will lose in a conflict, so would normally decline over time.
Another example of a recessive gene is the blue eye gene. If a couple have a child where one parent has bown eyes and the other blue the child is more likely to have blue eyes than brown.
The O allele and Rh positive allele are the most common in the population.
Type O Blood is unique in that it can be used by anyone. If you have Type O blood, you are considered to be a "universal donor". No other blood type is like Type O in this way.

it is no
Theres AB blood, B blood, A blood and O blood. O blood is considered a universal donnor because it has no specific code thing to it, so other blood types dont clot to it. If you mix other blood types together, you get blood clots and you can die. For example, mixing A blood with B blood will cause a blood clot. Hope this is helpful!
Blood type O is a universal donor of all blood types but can only receive from blood type O. Blood type AB is the only blood type that is a universal receiver of any blood type, but can only receive from blood type AB.
The blood type that is theoretically considered the universal donor is type O. Type O blood does not have any antigens, therefore it is compatible with any blood type.
People who have type O blood are universal donors, but not universal recipients. They can donate to anyone, but can only receive blood from another type O person. This is why type O blood is always in great demand by blood banks.
Group O is the universal donor. The downside for people with type O blood is that although their blood can go to anyone with any type (A,B, or O), they can only receive type O for themselves. Luckily, O is common.
Yes, blood O is the universal to be more specific O-. It is universal cause the Red blood cells have no antigens on their surface allowing for the cells to be donated to people with any blood type.
People with blood type O are universal donors, not universal recipients.

Type O negative blood is a universal donor blood type. In normal circumstances, anyone can receive type O negative blood in a transfusion. When it comes to plasma donation, type AB positive is a universal donor.

O+ :is a universal donor
Blood Type O+ is not universal (in ALL human beings), but is still regarded as the universal donor.
If you are AB positive (AB+ is universal receiver for positive blood group) then you can receive blood from A+, B+ & O+ & if you are AB negative then you cn receive blood from A-, B- & O-.
Type O negative.

Yes, blood type "O" is considered universal recipient. Blood type "AB" can not donate too someone with blood type O can donate blood too a person with blood type O.
