The term "PIG" as it referes to police officers or law enforcement in general comes from the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. In that novel the pigs were the ones on the farm that maintained order among the other animals.

Police officers got this name back in the 60s when they where seen most of the time at doughnut stores. The reason behind all of this is that doughnut stores where the easiest places to rob at that time so the doughnut shops gave officers and still do to this day doughnuts and coffee for free which in return slowed the robberies down.
