1. More people are asking questions than answering them. Those who answer, including Yours truly, do it for free because we want to, but we also have jobs and/or other responsibilities, and we cannot be there to answer them all in a manner which is timely for the individuals who asked.

2. Some questions are difficult. We do not know the answer or where to look for it, so instead of making up an answer we leave it unanswered until someone who does know finds it. It could take many months to answer such a question, assuming it is answered at all.

3. Some questions are too vague or just plain unanswerable. I have handled challenging ones like "Where does the water go?" but others are too Zen for me, and they must remain unanswered until a Zen master comes along to answer them.

4. Because people know things on many different subjects, but choose not to answer.
There are over 3 million answers on this website. There are over 11 million questions, and only about 2 million users. That's a 2:11 ratio, which isn't very good. That's why WikiAnswers asks for users to help answer all of the questions, because there just aren't enough to answer every question. There are 3 million answers, it's just that most people think there are no answers because there aren't enough users to answer all of everyone's questions on the site.
This website's members, (Like Me!) are dedicated to giving truthful answers. We give thousands of answers a day. If you ask a question, we have an answer. There is a "New Answers" column and an "Ask" bar at the top. If we have already answered, it will show you our dedicated answer. If it has not been asked, ask it and check back to see if a member has answered. If an answer does not satisfy you, we must change it, so in the meanwhile, re state your questions and we will answer! Do not look at Answers.com as a place where there are no answers- because we've got millions!
The answers are in the minds of people who are aware of the subject asked about but have yet to spot the question. Patience dear.
There are a lot of questions and a lot of categories. Someone would have to choose the category your question is in and answer it. It is always helpful if you put your question in the best category/categories that it would fall under. People generally answer questions in categories their good in. Right now I had extra time, so I was looking at "Questions about WikiAnswers", and I found yours. And how long ago did you ask this question? Do you know how to see if you got an answer? I hope this helped you out.

People do answer questions. Some people do nto want to waste their time with silly questions though. Also, some people do not know the answer to questions. I try to answer as many questions as possible and research them before I answer them.
