As mankind has evolved over the millenniums, the human jaw has grown smaller. The third molars (wisdom teeth) are remnants of a time when the jaw was much larger. Consequently, there often is not enough room for the wisdom teeth to properly erupt, and they become impacted.

∙ 14y agoI have just had 2 impact wisdom teeth, and it means that the wisdom tooth is either growing into the tooth next to it or the infection is affecting the roots of the tooth next door.
Whichever it is very painful, I had my wisdom teeth out in May and the teeth next door out in July following 5 lots of anti biotic, I would recommend having this procedure done under sedation.

It is impacted wisdom teeth or partially impacted wisdom teeth. By ear symptoms I assume you mean ear ache. I am going through these exact symptoms at the moment. Accompanied by head aches, neck and back pain, swollen neck lymph nodes and of course pain/swelling/redness in the back of the mouth where the impacted wisdom teeth are.

Not necessarily. Teeth tend to become more crowed as we age, especially the lower front teeth. This happens in some people regardless of whether they have wisdom teeth or not. Therefore, removing the wisdom teeth, solely for the purpose of hoping to get naturally straighter teeth, won't work.
