I really had to stop and reply to this answer. Someone said "Thats totally inaccurate. Men and women are equally as suseptible to contracting the AIDS virus. It's not gender specific. It can be contracted by anybody, of any gender or race."
The statement that women are more likely than men to contract AIDs is indeed correct. Women are (albeit slightly) more likely, even on a strictly biological level.
Here is an excerpt from a credible UN Chronicle, Women and AIDS in South Africa: a conflicted history leads to a dispiriting present, by Alexandra Suich
"While many women have taken action to help counsel
each other and prevent the further spread of AIDS, they
find themselves combating both biological factors and
entrenched social norms. During sexual intercourse,
the statistical probability of infection for women is higher
than men, since men carry a higher viral load or concentration
of HIV in semen than is produced by the female's
vaginal fluid."
It is more common for women to obtain the HIV from men than men from women during intercourse.
no but unprotected sex will cause HIV
No.HIV it is more spread-ed to heterosexuals than homosexuals
why women and yourth are more effected by hiv/aids
No; if you have the infection, you are affected by the HIV virus.
Yes, HIV is an RNA virus. However infectious HIV is more than just RNA.
Your immune system. AIDS will make you more susceptible to other diseases, it will not directly affect any other body systems.
I doubt that anyone could tell you exactly what is the chance, whether it is more than or less than 50-50, but there is a chance that you could become infected by hiv in that situation.
Yes. The reason is that HIV is only find in the blood of affected people. So the virus will be only be transferring by the blood of a HIV patient.
Ppl without HIV have a strong immune system so it's more dangerous to ppl with HIV since they don't have that. If they get sick it can easily lead to more serious conditions.
