You probably cant stop thinking about your ex because you miss the things that you and your ex used to do together and if you do have a boyfriend you want him to do the things that make you smile that your ex used to do for example if your ex used to sneak up on you and grab your waist and you liked that about your ex your going to want your current to do the same thing. If you are currently single you just feel lonely because, you are not used to being alone and being independent
