Because the clouds are made of water vapour, and it the rain is the water vapour when it has condensed, so without the clouds, there is nowhere for the water to come from
The answer above is INCORRECT. The correct answer from NASA Ames Research Center is found below.
"Clouds cover a huge range of physical dimensions, and particle sizes. The particle size range is similar to that from baseballs to planets. Not surprisingly the physics of the clouds varies significantly over such a large particle size range. There are several aspects of cloud physics that we take for granted on Earth, but which are not general. FOR INSTANCE IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE TO HAVE RAIN WITHOUT CLOUDS. Clouds occur on Earth because it is relatively difficult to grow particles to large enough sizes for coalescence to occur. Similarly, significant supersaturations can occur without cloud formation. It is thought that as much as 20% of the upper troposphere of Earth is supersaturated with respect to ice, but clouds are not present due to the difficulty of ice nucleation. Such supersaturated regions may be even more common on cold planets."

It is actually called a sunshower, and not, as one person said, magic. The sunshower or sun shower is an unusual meteorological phenomenon in which rain falls while the sun is shining. Basically, even though cumulumform clouds are producing rain, they lack the density to block the sun and so we have run with the sun shining. Alternatively, the sun can be low enough on the horizon and the clouds coverage small enough for the sun to be seen bellow the cloud coverage (this usually produces a rainbow)
# Yes it does rain when when it's cloudy. In fact it only rains when its cloudy.
No, there has to be a point of origin for the rain. Since rain comes from clouds, there has to be a cloud somewhere for it to rain.
rain rain go away come again another day
Is it cold when it rains?
it doesn't.
no you need rain clouds
the clouds that bring rain are usally cumulonimbus clouds
without clouds there wouldn't be rain and without rain there wouldn't be water.
What is an area on a mountainside with less rain and clouds?RAIN SHADOW
Nimbus clouds are dark gray cloud bearing rain. So, yes.
no you need rain clouds
the clouds are the rain
the clouds that bring rain are usally cumulonimbus clouds
Rain clouds are are rain clouds so stop being dumb...that wasn't the right answer u dumbo.
the rain comes from clouds
Dark rain Clouds are clouds that are black when it rains
No, White fluffy clouds (Cumulus clouds) do not usually cause rain. usually rain clouds are dark.
Rain clouds...obviouly!
Dark rain Clouds are clouds that are black when it rains
Dark rain Clouds are clouds that are black when it rains
Jupiter has clouds, but not acid rain.
without clouds there wouldn't be rain and without rain there wouldn't be water.
