It makes no sense to me...I heard that it is because girls' organs aren't developed enough, and if the get injuried then we wouldn't be able to have kids!
as a girl hockey player, to me, this is BULL @#!% it has nothing to do with our "fragile" organs! Boys would have the same problem too with this organ issue.
But, when a boys team plays a girl team then that's when there shouldn't be checking. Boys are bigger and stronger than girls. That's just how it works. I'm sure you don't want a boy, stronger and probably stronger than you checking you as hard as he could into the boards. I'm not saying we can't handle it, but it is possible that we could really get hurt. Yes, i know, it could go the other way, but more ways than not, the girls could get crushed.
But for a girl on girl team, it makes no sense why we can't. We are all girls, we are small and have smaller bones, and were probably the same weight.
