Equagesic is supposed to help reduce muscle pain for people who have problems with serious anxiety. It has aspirin to help with the pain, and another medicine called meprobamate to relieve the anxiety.

In other words, it's a sedative. For it to relax you, it has to affect your nervous system. It affects many parts of your nervous system, including your thalamus and limbic system in the brain. It evidently can hinder the parts of the brain that can wake you, as one side effect of as little as 3 milligrams of meprobamate can falling into a coma. So it's safer not to lay down as you may fall asleep and not be able to wake back up.

Since it seems to be somewhat of a dangerous drug, as well as an addictive one, apparently it's not normally prescribed to be used for long periods of time.

Many strong antibiotics can be damaging to your esophagus on the way down. Making sure it gets into your digestive system before you lie down can help avoid any injury.

Why do the instructions with ibuprofen say not to lie down for 30 minutes after taking it?

The instructions with Ibuprofen says not to lie down for 30 minutes after taking it. This is because within 30 minutes, the pill has not reached the stomach yet. Going on a horizontal position will cause mild discomfort or extremely sharp pain, depending on the stomach lining's sensitivity.

Why can't I lie down for 30 minutes after taking a clindamycin?

Because Clindamycin kills the bacteria in your stomach (the good bacteria that helps digest food) and laying down will cause GERD/really bad heartburn. It is better to stay upright or sitting up so this doesn't happen.

How to relieve nausea caused by antibiotic?

There are a few ways to help prevent the chances of nausea when taking an antibiotic:You should not eat anything for 2 hours before taking the antibiotic, or for 1 hour after.Eat bland, non-acidic foods like saltine crackers, bland starches (rice, potatoes, or even avocado, etc), toast (NOT HIGH FIBER BREAD), etc.Foods to AVOID are: DAIRY (Calcium lessens the effectiveness of the antibiotic), FIBER (Foods like nuts, green leafy vegetables, bran, etc cause your stomach to take longer to empty itself which in turn can cause the antibiotic to take longer to enter your bloodstream), ACIDS (grapefruit juice, tomato-based foods, etc which can increase the chance of nausea). And also make sure that you pay attention to other medications you might be taking that list nausea/vomiting as side effects. As far as mitigating/relieving the effects of nausea once they start, Ill I can say is to try and tough it out, or lay down with a cool or warm, damp washcloth on your throat, or if need be.... just vomit and you'll feel better (as long as it has been at least 30 minutes to an hour after your dose so the antibiotic has a chance to get into your bloodstream and not end up in the toilet)
