Hitler thought that if people weren't on his side they were to be punished. He did not care or decide on what happened to the people that were sent to the camps. As long as the people that went there were traders of the German race.

Technically, Hitler didn't kill them for 'no reason'. The reason why Hitler killed them was because he referred them along with other minorities such as Roma's, person of colour, POWs etc as being inferior to the German Aryan Race.

Hitler was very prejudice against the Jews. Not only for that reason did he commit a genocide against them, but he blamed them all for the faults that had happened during Germany. He blamed them for the economic struggle and for the Treaty of Versailles. He used the Jews as a scapegoat and decided to exterminate them all for his own beliefs.

He also picked up on the old anti-Semitism from the earlier periods. Jews had been blamed for everything - a baby dies, a Jew did it; someone gets sick, a Jew made them sick. It had been going on for centuries before Hitler, probably ever since the Christ had been hung on the cross.

Because he hated Jewish people. As a down-on-luck aspiring painter in Vienna after World War I, he noticed all the successful shops and businesses were run by Jewish people. This made him angry because he considered them 'un-pure.'

Did hitler kill or send people to prison?

During Hitler's rise to power in Germany, he had to purge certain Nazi's that were too extreme or that threatened the regular army in Germany. For example, the Brown Shirts were a paramilitary Nazi organization. They helped Hitler to gain a degree of power. For full control of Germany, the military high command wanted Hitler to purge the Brown Shirts if Hitler wanted the support of the German generals. This he did and there was bloodshed. Once in power, Hitler had many political enemies that he either placed in concentration camps or had them executed after treason trials. Hitler sent many innocent people to prison or to death camps.
