FOX originally wanted him to make animated shorts based on his "The Life of Larry" & "Larry and Steve" Cartoons that were to air between skits on MadTV.
However instead of that they hired him to create a half hour show so he retooled his "Larry" characters into the Griffins.

∙ 14y agoHe didn't. FOX decided to put a moratorium on both shows making references to each other. Homer Simpson does make an appearance in The Juice Is Loose.
However, the events of the episode took place in 2007, before FOX's decision.
