Why did Mohandas Gandhi fast? |
[Improve]
Gandhi fasted to make his followers stop marching in protest of British rule. His followers had to stop because they were carrying violent acts against the British and Gandhi wanted no part of it. He fasted a second time to keep the Muslims and Hindus from fighting each other.
