∙ 11y agoMichael Bay killed off Optimus Prime so that Hasbro could make a new action figure, Ultimate Optimus Prime. If Optimus hadn't died, Sam would never have found the Matrix of Leadership. Essentially, there would be no plot without Optimus's death.
