In the fall 1980, Suzanne Somers and her husband/manager, Alan Hamel, asked for a raise from $30,000 per episode to $150,000 per episode plus 10% of the show's profits. Co-stars John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt, confused and angry, refused to work with Somers, whose role was reduced to a phone-call from a separate soundstage at the end of each episode (Chrissy had been sent to take care of her ailing mother in Fresno). For the remainder of the 1980-81 season, Jenilee Harrison performed as a "temporary" roommate, Chrissy's clumsy cousin Cindy Snow. By fall 1981, Somers was officially fired, and Priscilla Barnes was cast as a permanent replacement, playing nurse Terri Alden, a more sophisticated blonde (Harrison's character moved out to attend UCLA but occasionally visited through spring 1982). Though viewership dropped when Somers left, Three's Company remained very popular, focusing more on John Ritter's physical abilities and his character's transition from cooking student to owner of Jack's Bistro, a French cuisine restaurant.

Because they do things in threes. They had three prophecies for Macbeth and now they have three for Banquo.
Waltzes travel in threes.
In scene 3 of Macbeth, the Porter/doorman is drunk. They have been up drinking until three in the morning.
The Sphinx forces the city of Thebes to pay a heavy tax. The situation ends with subsequent Theban King Oedipus solving the previously unsolvable riddle to which the Sphinx subjects all passersby. No one before Oedipus realizes that it's man who moves about on fours in the morning [youth], twos in the afternoon [adulthood], and threes in the evening [old age].
Oedipus overcomes the Sphinx by solving the riddle that the beastly bully asks of all travelers to and from Thebes. The Sphinx requests the identity of a life form that moves on fours in the morning of youth, on twos in the afternoon of adulthood, and on threes in the evening of old age. Only Oedipus knows that the answer is the man who crawls as an infant, strides when mature, and needs a walking stick in old age.
