1. England had experienced all of the forerunners of industrialization in the previous century: an agricultural revolution, cottage industry, and an expanded commercial revolution. These developments had built surplus capital and an infrastructure

(shipping, banking, insurance, joint stock companies).

2. England already had a handcraft textile industry using wool, but with the availability of cotton from overseas markets as an alternative raw material.

3. The scientific revolution in England prepared the way for new inventions to be applied to industry.

4. A spreading shortage of wood (used for energy, for shipbuilding and

construction) stimulated a search for alternatives.

5. England was rich in supplies of coal for energy and iron for construction.

6. England had a long, irregular coastline with many rivers and natural

harbors which provided easy transportation by water to many areas.

7. England's population grew rapidly in the 18th century, providing a labor

force for industry.

There are several factors for why the Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain.

One is that Great Britain had great sources of coal and iron which were needed for industrialization.

Britain was a politically stable society.

Britain had many colonies which provided raw materials. The colonies were also a good place to sell manufactured goods.

Demand for British goods increased so more cost-effective means of production were needed. This resulted in a rise of mechanization and factories. Easier and cheaper means for making goods were being developed, such as the spinning jenny, the power loom, and the steam engine.

1. the growth of technology around the time; the dutch use of the steam engine to drain swamps was lent to england to drain mines and give more land to farm on.

2. England had established a very stable form of government earlier in time along with the dutch: England relied on a constitutional monarchy while the dutch had stadholders in each province. It did not happen in France because of the French revolution or in any other country in Europe that had been taken over by napoleon in the napoleonic wars. States like Germany(weimark republic) were not untill after the revolutions of 1848.

3. England were one of the first to abolish serfdom in the 15-17th century while east europe did not abolish it untill 1861, thus england shifted into an agricultural society faster in search for better methods to farm, in addition the english were the first to develop the cottage industry which made family's produce goods for themselves and consumers, this process would and their free trade, consumer demand and social mobillity and willing investors allowed the English to lead in industrialization

Industrialization began in England for numerous reasons. First, Britain's government was stable and had been for some time. The last time of instability in Britain before the Industrial Revolution was the Glorious Revolution in the late 17th century. Additionally, Britain had an abundance of resources such as coal and iron that gave Britain the resources to fuel industrialization. Also, Britain had made several advances in agricultural technology and techniques that had led to a food surplus in Britain. This abundance of food allowed more people in Britain to stop farming and move to cities which provided the workforce to work in the factories of the industrial revolution.
