occurred in Britain before the other European countries because:

(i) They were close to the sea, no part of Britain was very far from the sea. This was quite advantageous because water transportation was the only economic way to move bulky materials like Iron . In addition, brought materials close to factories and goods close to markets

(ii)Britain also had modernized transportation like canals, turnpikes and tollgates unlike continental Europe which in many cases did not have many improvements in transport.

(iii)They had rich deposits of coal and iron

(iv)Britain had standardized measurements whereas in places like France there were changes in the type of measurements in each province.

(v)Britain had a large amount of people who were willing to work, or in other words labour supply.

Britain had developed agricultural technology the furthest, giving them more free time to invent. Along with this, Britain had many of the Natural Resources naturally as well as the work force to fuel them.

The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain because they had water power, coal, iron ore, rivers, and harbors. Also because they had machine manufacturing. And the Britains economic development was from 1760 to 1840, then industrial revolution spread to other parts of the world.
