Koreans tried to find better economic opportunity so they traveled to the US in hopes for jobs or fertile land.

The first generation of Korea who immigrated to America was mostly women who married to Korean War soldiers in Korea. Also back in 1950's Korea was shattered by Korean war, so many people wanted to find better opportunity outside the country whenever they could. The rate of Immigration has reduced since then because South Korea became a developed country.
