When FDR met with Stalin he was a sick man and Stalin took advantage of this at Yalta. Truman was not going to mess around. He wanted to be strong and show he was in charge. The Russians wanted control and we're heading into a stance that would lead to the "Cold War".

FDR was sick when they met with him so got concessions that had he been well probably wouldn’t have happened. Truman was not sick and viewed the Soviet policy of expansion of communism as one needing containment.
