They originally had planned to do another episode showing what had happened after- but it unfortunately never got filmed and that just happened to be how the series ended.
The show just ran out of steam.

ALF is most commonly associated with a 1980's TV series involving an alien who crash lands on Earth. The comedic alien was given the name ALF, as an acronym for 'Alien Life Form'.ALF also stands for 'Advanced Lightwire Functionals,' an orthodontic method used to align the teeth and jaw without braces. ALF can also refer to the 'Animal Liberation Front' an organization dedicated to animal rights and the spread of veganism.

After ALF is captured by the Millitary he is taken to a base, and will be expiremented on him. By the help of fellow Millitary soilders, Major Melissa Hill and Captain Rick Mullian, but ALF doesn't want to leave because he is enjoying the Millitary and his room. ALF is hunted by the Millitary, and is hidden my Major Melissa Hill and Captain Rick Mullian. After many events of the film, in the end ALF is not to be sent to the Millitary or be experimented on for telling the truth to the other people in the Millitary, as they arrest a man, who works in the Milltary who was trying to expirement, hunt, and kill ALF, Milfoil. In the end, the Millitary Panel decide to have ALF and ambassador for Earth, but from another planet.
