Here's what I know regarding most of the actors in the original series who left for one reason or another since I don't know who exactly you're asking about.
Walter Jones, Thuy Trang and Austin St. John = they wanted more money so they went on strike. In the end they lost their job. It's unknown whether it was their doing when it comes to quitting or whether they were just fired.
Amy Jo Johnson = She left on her own. As far as I know of - her contract was up and she wasn't interested in renewing it.
David Yost = As far as I know of, he stormed off the set one day and never came back.
Steve Cardenas = I've never really heard of why he left.
Johnny Bosch, Catherine Sutherland, Nakia and Jason David Frank = the people in charge wanted them gone. Originally they were just planning on getting rid of 2 of them but in the end they decided to get rid of all 4 of those actors.
The rest of them just left because it's what the crew intended.
