Why do people think the CIA killed JFK?

The CIA did not kill John F. Kennedy, he was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. There are many theories and schemes floating around on the subject but when the evidence is taken in totality, the result shows quite definitively that Oswald was responsible. Other theories of the assassination only hold together when the evidence is examined selectively.

Another theory based on the confession of a Mafia hit man is as follows:

Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill John F Kennedy (JFK) , but was a patsy.

The Mafia killed JFK because Bobby Kennedy was "turning up the heat" on the Mafia.

Even after all the work the Mafia had done in Chicago to get JFK elected president in 1960.

Mafia hit man James (Sutton) Files has recently confessed to firing the fatal bullet, the blew JFK's brains out towards the rear, from the infamous grassy knoll in Daily Plaza.

James Files worked together with another Mafia hit man to "take the trash out" as he put it.

There is no evidence to link the mafia with Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who shot Kennedy. Oswald was known to dislike minorities, including Italians which means he would not likely have cooperated with them in any case, much less killed the President for them.

They didn't. There is no reason whatsoever to believe Oswald was CIA, or in fact had any help at all. We now know the concrete wall was between the Grassy Knoll "sniper" site, and the President, at the moment the fatal shot was fired. The so-called Badgeman there would have been about the size of a cat. Actually, "Badgeman" is just sunlight glinting off a Coke bottle clearly photographed there instants later, along with some blurry bushes.

I sincerely doubt the CIA has ever been so hard up that they would need someone like Oswald working for them. If the CIA had done it, you can bet your bottom dollar it would have looked like natural causes.
