The Korean War (1950-1953) is located in the Far East (the east end of Asia). What is sometimes referred to as the "Gulf Wars" is located in Southwest Asia, the opposite end of Asia (and the opposite end from Korea). The "Gulf Wars" get their names from the Persian Gulf regions which are a part of the Indian ocean (which borders the Pacific Ocean near Australia). There were at least three so called "Gulf Wars" in the 20th and 21st centuries: 1. Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) 2. Operation Desert Storm (January through February of 1991) 3. Operation Iraqi Freedom (which commenced in 2003) Of all of them; Desert Storm was the quickest and cleanest (for the coalition forces). Less than 200 US killed and the campaign lasted less than 60 days, with 100% victory. The Korean War is a whole different story.
