The Social Security office will need to look up your case to see why your check came on the third of the month instead of the third Wednesday of the month. If you began receiving SSI payments then this would change the day of payment.

There are a few reasons why someone that normally receives their Social Security check on the third Wednesday of the month might receive it on the third of the month instead. If there are any garnishments or other payments made, it will change the date of the payment.

No. Benefits do not stop when you get married. Also, you both continue to receive your check each month. In the event of death of one spouse, the surviving spouse will receive the greater of the two amounts for the rest of their life. For example, if a husband passes away and his social security income was higher than his wife each month, she will then receive a check for that amount instead.
