Babies have very clear eyes because they have not completely developed. When babies are born, they can only see twelve inches in front of them.
Just because a newborn baby has slightly slanted eyes does not mean that they have down syndrome. Doctors are able to diagnose down syndrome at birth.
Very Carefully.
Initially (before the baby's birth) it looks clear - like murky water. Just before birth it changes to become more obviously white (with a slight yellowish tint). After birth milk leaks are usually due to a full breast which is normally white/clear with a very very faint blue tint.
very small. about the size of half you small finger. they are born fully haired, eyes open and you can touch them with in 4 hours of birth.
Very similar to baby housecats, with blue eyes and fluffy fur.
Babies are given eye drops at birth to prevent any infections that the baby may pick up from travelling down the birth canal, because a baby can pick up infections from vaginal secrections from the mother during birth because the birth canal and vagina are not very clean. If eye drops are not given (which in many poor countries they aren't) a baby can get eye infections and even go blind from the infections that he or she picks up during birth.
Yes, this sounds quite normal. When they very first open they can look a little gunked up. Keep a close eye on them and it should clear very soon. If this continues to be a problem then it would be best to take ask some advice from a vet.
long, very long indeed - ask in complete sentences.
