Because, in my humble opinion, she is smart. Notwithstanding her recent diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, she has concentrated on her livelihood, whatever that may have involved in her productive past. She does what she wants to, and she does it well. Although her admitted shyness has kept her neither from the music scene nor the dating scene, it has pretty well buffered her from the onslaught of the mass media, except for, of course, the account of her realtionship with California Governer Jerry Brown some 35 years ago. Still, I do not believe that that relationship was a publicity stunt. But Linda, I believe, is in no way flambuoyant, in her own mores. She keeps a tight rein on her charted course, and when she does deviate, it is because she is human. But she isn't stupid. Marriage has been the downfall, and the spotlight, of too many top-notch celebrities. Linda will have none of that.
