well, First off...
Its a THEORY we evolved from apes. Repeat, theory. there is no evidence we did.
Why Haven't We Evolved Further?
Because a species evolves when it needs to adjust to its environment But when the environment slowly changes, evolution comes in and the animal evolves to adapt to the new environment
So, if we haven't evolved anymore, then we are adapted and we don't need change.
EDIT: A scientific theory, which is based on a collection of hypothesis, which is gained through observation and EVIDENCE. You are incorrect to say there is no evidence for evolution, there is a vast amount to support it. You ought to look up what it means to be a scientific theory, and why Evolution is considered to be one. It is one of the most common misunderstanding that I see in relation to evolution.
We did not evolved from the apes of today, humans and the apes of today SHARE a common ancestor, which is to say that we evolved from another ape (homo erectus). The process of evolution takes so long that it can not be observed, we are talking 100's of thousands of years. This is why you don't see the changes, simply because they occur over a large amount of time, little by little.
The apes of today are as evolved as they need to be in order to survive in their habitat, and is why they don't share the intelligence that we humans do. We evolved to best suit our survival.
To finish up, we are evolving through natural selection. The most suitable genes are past on to future generations. As I said before, it's impossible to observe this since it takes such a long time to notice a change.

We all have wisdom teeth right? notice how they come in later in life?
Why?
Because we USED to use them years ago. when we ate more meat. We needed those extra molers to chew and grind our food. now, people are being born without their wisdom teeth. How? Why? Evolution. our bodies are registering that we don't need them. So, we aren't born with them.
You APPENDIX too. We used to need that. for when we ate lots of plants. Now, we don't eat as much. So now it just sits there. it does absolutely nothing.
some people say well people are being born with more than 2 arms and legs. this must be evolution!! No... Its called a mutation. it happens wen your just born with it. but, they usually don't pass the gene.
Look up natural selection. explains alot. hope i helped.
Humans did not evolve from apes. We share a common ancestor with apes. If you are talking about why the public rejected the idea that we evolved from apes back when the theory was proposed, it was because the public thought we were to "superior" to have evolved from such a "primitive" animal.
We didn't evolve from apes because humans are technically apes. Relatively recently, humans diverged from a common ancestor which give rise to us, modern-day chimps, and modern bonobos.
Humans are in fact, apes so in a sense we do give birth to apes.
Evolutionary biologists do not believe humans descended from apes.
It is the idea that life as we know it all descended from one ancestral life form.
Why it is not a good idea to collect data by asking the public
That all humans had evolved from apes into modern humans, research into our own DNA shows that Neanderthals interbred with another branch of apes called cro-magnon man. This resulted in modern humans that we knoe today.
incompletely
Humans are decended from apes
Zero Reject
Because Muslims believe by virtue of their faith that all humen are children of Adam and he was created directly by God Himself and then Adam decended from heavens to Earth with a powerful objective i.e to know Thy God which is the mission of every human being. Muslims also reject the idea that man evolved from apes because they believe that accepting this necessarily requires a belief in Social Darwinism, which they also reject.
Evolutionary biologists do not believe humans descended from apes.
Copernicus did not reject the idea that planetary orbits around our Sun were circular.
Humans are desceanded from apes
Catholics did not reject the idea of infant baptism. Catholics have been baptizing eight-day old infants for a very long time.
Yes, It can be used in at least two different ways: 1. This car is a Reject. (Noun) 2. I Reject your idea. (Verb) That fits the definition of Homograph.
The human doll represents that humans talked - which took the apes by surprise. The apes had been taught that they were always superior to the humans so the idea that humans talked indicates that they used to be more intelligent - possibly as intelligent as the apes.
Because they thought it was not good enough
