McDonald's food is eaten by Americans for two reasons:
1. It's fast. It usually takes about five minutes to get a burger and a shake, and you can eat it on the go.
2. It's cheap. One only needs to pay a few dollars for a good lunch.
Some people think that McDonald's actually tastes good.
Because it is marketed so thoroughly, is made to taste good (but not healthy), and is cheap (which is why the people in America who are overweight also tend to be lower middle class).
Honestly, its not just America though. Fast food chains have become increasingly popular in China, especially places like McDonald's and Pizza Hut.
