No, you can still use an analog TV, but you will need a converter box to receive digital cable.

If you already have an analog setup and it's working OK, you should still be able to record. The cable box, if it has the analog output on it, should still work the way it does now.

No it does not the controller will still work. that system is for TV reception and even Analog TVs will work with the new digital box

Those particular channels may yet still be analog from your cable provider. Try doing a channel search with the analog tuner portion of your TV and see if they show up there. If they do, you'll have to switch between digital and analog inputs on your TV to receive the channels.
