When your baby takes in air along with his breast milk or formula, the air gets trapped in with the liquid. The air has to come up, and when it does, so does some of the liquid. Sometimes the babies insides are not fully developed, there is a flap that is suppose to stay down. And when a baby is born that flap may not stay down and it causes them to get sick more often or spit up. I don't know what the flap is called but my mom told me I had that problem when I was a baby.
Morning sickness is a result of extreme and sudden changes in hormones and physical features during pregnancy. Although these changes are probably the most prominent reason, another belief is that the heightened sense of smell can cause the women to become sick to her stomach. Sometimes the elimination of foods that can cause nausea might be helpful for your morning sickness, such as spicy foods or foods that are in fat (and foods that you know personally make you feel nauseated). You might also consider taking a B vitamin such as B6 or B12, consult your doctor for the best recommended dosage. Ginger is also an natural herb that has been proven to help ease the pain of stomach illness.
Although the exact cause of sickness is not known, it's said that it's the overdrive of hormones rushing around the body. There's alot to prepare for a baby, and much of your energy goes on this.
