Cats that sprawl out on their backs and sleep are letting their humans know they have complete trust in them. Proof of this is the fact that when you walk up on them they don't move... and their little arms and legs continue to dangle about in the air. Even the thought of my Egyptian Mau doing this makes me chuckle. I will often bend over and kiss him while he sleeps... that still doesn't disturb him. That's because he knows that he is mine and that I love him unconditionally. So consider yourself highly complimented by the cat world if you cat does this.
